I only knew them for this intriguing song they had in 1968 - "Master Jack"

I'll try and search for some of their other music! :D

Very hard finding any other songs, but I've got "Mr. Nico" which was a followup single to "Master Jack" peaking at #98 in America in 1969.

This is cool and too wierd..I thought this band was only a fictional group mentioned by Fred Willard's character in This Is Spinal Tap :heheh:

That movie is more smarter to me than ever now.

Not sure what you mean cause I don't know Spinal Tap - but "Master Jack" sounds real enough! :D Some critics were suggesting this being a Folk-Rock group, but I thought "Master Jack" had a harder edge to it - even if Jill is the lead singer! :D

Re: Four Jacks and a Jill

It's not important to this thread but Spinal Tap was a fictional documentary comedy of a 60's band gone Heavy Metal by the 70's and the 80's written starred and directed by Rob Rieiner along with Christopher Guest,Harry Sheerer and Michael Mckean, who not only played the band but played the music and composed it also.

Funny flick.

There is a scene where the band is hitting rock bottom and are forced to play an Air Force base hangar and Fred Willard's character (the Colonel) is showing them around and mentions, "Did you ever run into a musical group, works out of Kansas City, calls themselves Four Jacks and a Jill? They've been at a Ramada Inn there for about eighteen months. If you're ever in Kansas City and you want to hear some good music you might want to, uh, drop by."

Quite funny.
