What should I keep an eye out for? What artists and what specific albums?

I'm talking monetary value as well as musical excellence!

Some of the sleeves are heavily damaged by water, some are pristine...

Some artists i found and are farmiliar with

Talking heads (fear of music yess)
Asia (the art!)
King Crimson (lark's tongue in aspic, (promo dj copy) yesss!)
Traffic (low spark of the high heeled boys! among others)
Yes

Some other artists that i should be farmiliar with... but are not

Moody Blues
Robin Trower
Mott the Hoople
Steely Dan
Boston
Steve Winwood
Beach Boys
Simon and Garfunkel

THERES SO MUCH and I don't know where to begin!!!!!

First make a list.

Separate them into categories, good condition, water damaged etc.

Then look online and see what they are worth if you want to sell them. Also check your local area for a used vinyl shop, the owners LOVE buying collections but try and get a ballpark what yours' is worth before you visit.

If you have a turntable, then listening to them would be a good idea, if they are scratched or unplayable they aren't worth anything usually.

Also I moved your thread to the Rock Lounge.

Alrighty thanks!

I do not have a turn table but am going to pick on up specifically to listen to these!

I might sell them/some. give some away. but for now i'm not going to..

the old tenants left them behind, but i have a feeling they won't be back for them (its been near a year)

i noticed a few of these albums have 'promotional copy, not for sale"

one says illegal to sell. lark's tongue in aspic has a sticker saying something along those lines, it is stamped on fear of music...

where does that put the value of the record? there is some water damage on fear of music =(

You are very, very lucky. My advice? Don't even think about selling them unless you've listened to them all at least twice.

Some great records there, which will add to your life of you let 'em!
