Foreigner to release ballads album

foreignerAlb.jpg

Foreigner will release the compilation album I Want To Know What Love Is: The Ballads on February 3, ahead of a UK tour with Europe and FM.

Mick Jones’s outfit have assembled 14 of their most popular tracks for the main CD. A bonus disc, available with the special edition digipak, features 12 acoustic numbers recorded last year and was produced by bassist Jeff Pilson.

Jones and former frontman Lou Gramm settled their longstanding differences last year – but the vocalist later confirmed there were no plans for a reunion.

The band, now fronted by Kelly Hansen, enjoyed a successful 2013 after Hollywood turned its attention on their catalogue and their music was featured in Anchorman 2, Magic Mike and Pitch Perfect, while tracks also appeared on the video game Grand Theft Auto V.

Jones observes: “Our music has touched a lot of people worldwide. Unwittingly, we’ve weaved into the fabric of people’s lives.”

Apr 04: Newcastle City Hall
Apr 05: Glasgow Clyde Auditorium

I second that...70's G! And what they do have aren't all that great, either. In Pieces for example, I would rather have seen Until the End of Time instead.

I have every one of these songs on the original vinyl so I won't be spending my money just to get the newly recorded acoustic versions, ;)

Looking at CD #2 made me laugh.:heheh:

Have all the Foreigner I need, like Boston their first few albums are the creme de la creme.

Without Lou Gramm they are simply not the same band, even though I realize Mick has the rights to carry on touring with Foreigner as long as he wants to.

I saw Foreigner two years ago and Mick was out sick so there was not one original member on stage that night

^^The original line-up was massively talented Fever, almost a 'supergroup'.
