THORR'S HAMMER: :

Thorr's Hammer is a female fronted Doom Metal band from Seattle, Washington that unfortunately only released one 4 song EP called "Dommedagsnatt" recorded in 1995 before the band disbanded and singer Runhild Gammelsæter went back to Oslo, Norway. Runhild was only 17 years old when this EP was committed to tape as she was a exchange student at that time. The group disbanded upon her departure back to her homeland and after being together a total of only 6 six weeks . They recorded only four songs and played live twice in that period. This EP is quite popular among the metal underground it is amazing what they were able to achieve in so short a time . And yes, that is pretty little Runhild doing those Death growls as well as the clean vocals.

You certainly won't get anyone who doesn't like Death / Doom to agree with you and I doubt there are many fans of the sub-genre here but Thorr's Hammer hasn't obtained the cult status that they have for no reason.

BLOOD CEREMONY : Hailing from Canada ,this is another band that I really enjoy that is female fronted. Sort of a retro 70's psychedelic experience who draw their influences from bands such as Tull and Coven with a bit of a doomy vibe via the mighty Black Sabbath .They are far from just being a clone of their influences however as they take their inspirations and mold them into something all their own. Alia O'Brien's eerie vocals front this mix of Psychedelic Rock, Stoner Metal, and Heavy Psych as well as providing flute and organ to the interesting soundscape.

Just added pics so you guys can get a look at these ladies. And as a interesting side note, Runhild Gammelsæter is also a professional biologist/scientist and president of a biotechnology company. She also fronts the band Khlyst.

STAKE OFF THE WITCH: An Italian Stoner Metal band who were officially born in September 2002, from an idea of Stefania (vocals and guitar) and Caterina (bass guitar), it's two female members have been the core of the band while the male half of the band has frequently changed since their inception .
