Not limited to any band, genre or decade. Just post your favorite non-albums track(s) (whether previously unreleased, B-Sides of a 45 or songs from movie soundtracks), and any information about the song (if able and willing). A few favorites of mine off the top of my head are:

The Seeker - The Who

Join Together - The Who

Hey Hey, What Can I Do - Led Zeppelin

Traveling Riverside Blues - Led Zeppelin

Silver Springs - (written by) Stevie Nicks • (recorded by) Fleetwood Mac

Birth Ritual - Soundgarden (from the "Singles" movie soundtrack)

More to follow...

Re: Favorite B-Sides and Other Assorted Non-Album Tracks

That not a bad Soundgarden song. I'm not really a fan of theirs but I actually like that more than most of their studio album stuff I've heard.

The Darkness have the BEST non album songs ever. The record companies actually wanted to put many of their B-sides on the albums themselves but The Darkness wouldn't allow it because they wanted their records to be released on vinyl. Now that is much respect to the past.

And for you Radiohead fans out there....

Just to make sure I understand you are talking about songs released as B-sides on old 45's for example that were never included on the album KMET?

Yessir. Those count, too. :)

Along with previously unreleased tracks, as well as one-offs for movie soundtracks.

My second favorite song ever made is a B-side!

Thanks! It's beautiful and only takes a backseat as my favorite song ever to Smashing Pumpkins-Mayonaise due to pure bias! :D

And what are the grounds for such biased sentiments?

Mayoniase was the bridge into truly feeling emotion in music. The buildup is very cathartic. It reminds me of a place in my childhood and it always gave me a feeling of hope. If one song represents me it will always be that one. Oh yeah, Smashing Pumpkins is my all time favorite band so they have to have the top slot! :grinthumb

That's really cool. I have similar sentiments for some songs. I don't know if there I have a song that represent me but I know that my favorite of all time is "The Show Must Go On" by Queen.
