    I love Fairport - I’ve seen them twice in Manchester in recent years. They do a great friendly send-up of Steeleye Span’s Gaudete. Simon Nicol does a great job with all the introductions and is a born communicator. The current lineup has been together a long time and I hope they keep going a good while yet.

    Fairport Convention's Liege and Leaf was really a groundbreaking album. I remember playing THE BALLAD OF MATTY GROVES so many times I wore the vinyl out. It set me on a course of a lifetime of loving and collecting English traditional folk-rock music.
