I love this band. A lot. Almost as much as I like Sigur Ros. Explosion In The Sky, is indeed another post rock band. I've been diggin that genre a whole lot lately, and what better way to share that but to share it with my CRF buddies. So just sit back, and enjoy the wonderful sounds that this bands has to bring you, I can only hope that you enjoy them as much as I do.

The biggest thing I like about these guys is the fact that they are strictly an instrumental post rock band. So you can have the enjoyment of the relaxing sounds of post rock, without the vocals (if you don't like most post rocky vocals), but if they were going to do something like this, they definitely did it well. It would be cool to see them experiment with a vocalist sometime, but it's not entirely necessary. In some ways, this band has made a name for itself to stay instrumental, so it would be a little hard to get used to if they brought a vocalist on, but who says you can't experiment from time to time. I personally wouldn't mind it either way, I dig them when they don't have a vocalist, and I am positive I would dig them even if they did.

I just had Sal go on a rampage about these guys.
And they are good, soothing, beautiful and well made music!

I'm assuming the rampage was a positive one? If not, i've got some serious post rock rehabilitation to do. :heheh:

I agree though, they've got a lot of talent.

I personally think they picked the right genre to form the kind of band that they did, it would be weird to see them perform as any other genre except for ambient / post rock. Idk, that could just be me.

Yes I did indeed rant at Harkat a little about the awesomeness of EitS :heheh: The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place was my introduction to post-rock itself and I've only recently snapped up the other albums they have, from the limited listens I've had I've enjoyed them. I love the amount of emotion portrayed through music alone, every lyric is in the notes! They have a wonderful ambient aura and the guitar/piano interplay is fantastical. Great band! :grinthumb

Post Rock bliss tonight
Explosions in the Sky at Radio City Music Hall. I love these guys and have seen them a number of times but tonight was their best set yet. New Album sounds great and the atmospere these guys set on the grand Radio City Music Hall stage was amazing.
