Hi everyone. I'm Enchlore. I found this forum while looking for an origin to old song medleys that rock bands tend to do (like the Queen medleys or the one the Scorpions are doing in their current tour) and there was a topic about that here. I decided to join because almost no one I talk to understands my liking for 40 year old music, so I might just be able to drop by here and leave a comment on something that catches my interest. I'm probably not gonna post a lot, but I usually check back often.
I've been playing piano ever since I was 11 - no idea what my reasons were at the time but I developed my playing abilities over time since I've become more actively interested in music. I've always gotten a lot of rock tendencies from my family (especially from my father's side), and I started listening to rock when a cousin gave me a collection of 80s rock hits for my 4th or 5th (can't remember) birthday (Classic Metal was the name of the album - I still have it). Journey and Scorpions were, to me, the highlights of the collection. My father also made me listen to a lot of Queen, he had a DVD with their 2002 Queen's Day show (which isn't really a representative of Queen as only half the band is there) and the On Fire: Live at the Bowl album which I still own.
Today I'm in a band that is struggling to move along with only a drummer with no drum kit at home, a keyboardist who hasn't talked to us for a long while and me as the other keyboardist and frustrated lead singer. We haven't found guitarists yet, though I've played with a schoolmate once for a one off talent show.
That's it, I think. I wrote a lot more than I expected to.
