Eddie's mom Alice was an absolute sweetheart, I also visited Chippenham and the accident site... what's quite Spooky is that a young Marc Bolan held open the door of that Ford Consul so Eddie and Gene could get in... and a very young cop( Dave Dee) later to join Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.. was the first on the scene and rescued the famous guitar.
