Dream Evil Official Website

DREAM EVIL are another fine power metal band from Sweden . Must admit the first time I heard this band [ the track "made of metal"...made me cringe a bit with its cheesyness ].....but first impressions can often lie, because if you dig deeper....DREAM EVIL are a VERY GOOD band indeed. Power, melodies, great heavy guitars, superb vocals etc.....enough to keep any metal fan interested :grinthumb

Albums:

Dragonslayer – (2002)
Evilized – (2003)
The Book of Heavy Metal – (2004)
United – (2006)
In the Night – (2010)

Re: Dream Evil

I like Dream Evil, I don't let the "cheese" factor bother me when it comes to power metal bands. I've got 5 of their albums.

I've never understood why people want to make fun of heavy/power metal bands that use their imagination when it comes to songwriting/album themes...:hm:...After all no other single theme in history is as overused as "Love Songs"...and no one bashes those nearly as much.

Having a good imagination is part of what makes this kind of music appealing to me, I'll take it everytime over the depressing metal genres out there.

Nice to see you found your quill and inkwell again LOU.:hab:

I happened to catch the track " The book of heavy metal" played at a local metal night and was impressed so decided to check them out.Anyone seen them "live"? I know they have toured with bands like BLIND GUARDIAN.
Heres the DREAM EVIL Discography....

Dragonslayer.....2002

The book of heavy metal....2004
United.......2006
In the night....2010

Re: Dream Evil

I think "Evilized" is a good place to start, it's got a Manowar feel to it and Gus G.(Of Firewind and now touring with Ozzy) was at his best on this one.

Their 2010 release "Into the Night" was also top notch, without Gus G. as he's moved on but still worth checking out.

Can't go wrong with either of those LOU.:hb:

Yet again 2 tasty tracks by the talented Scandanavians. Surely there must be more fans of this band on the forum than myself and LG ?

Just spotted this thread Lou! I've listened to all of the vids, yeah these guys are good! Like the singers voice too - he's got a good set of pipes on him! I can hear Priest, Maiden and Scorpions in some of their songs, would be interested to know who their influences are. Of the ones you've posted I particularly like The Book of Heavy Metal, Children of the Night & Doomlord :grinthumb
