Do you think that is diferent the european classic rock (AOR) fan with to the american classic rock fan?

Well, i ask this silly because this morning i was watching the fantastic DVD, Journey 2001, with Steve Augery (fantastic singer!!!) in Las Vengas. And I remember that when I bought this dvd, my first suprise was the formal assistance. For example in Italy, Spain, Greece... the classic fan of american rock bands (AOR) how Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Reo... tipically are hard rock and Metal fans also. In my country is comun to be a Dream Theater fan and also can be a Toto fan.
When I went to Madrid for the Journey's concert with Jeff Scott Soto, the most of the people used to wear hard rock or metal t-shirts, and in the Las Vegas concert I saw people without rock dress...
Once time, I read in a magazine that in the USA there are difference into the Classic rock and metal fan. This is true, or they share the same musical tastes...?

It's impossible to really say one way or the other Asoda. People are all over the map when it comes to music and unless you've lived in both places for a while you don't have a reference point to make a judgement from.

If I lived in Madrid for ten years and New York for about the same amount of time then I could offer an opinion on the difference/similarities between the two cities when it comes to musical tastes/fashion etc.

I think those compass point differences (both geographical and metaphorical) were more pronounced in the 70's and 80's. For example, I was a staunch hair and glam metal fan in the 80's and almost anything else was considered sacrilege. Same was true of UK punk fans in the 70's, new wave in the early 80's and that's before we even delve back to the 60's and Mods vs. rockers.

Now, whilst people obviously do still hold preferences, it's one big melting pot and we're free to listen to whatever crap we like, hopefully without our friends disowning us. To answer the question, I don't there is that sort of distinction within the AOR genre.

I have no idea who listens to what music in what nation. But based on what you said, I'd say yes, most fans of a band like Journey or Styx in the US probably aren't metal fans. If I went to one of their concerts here I would expect to see mostly middle-aged women at the show. Which obviously isn't an insult, I like both Styx & Journey and half my catalogue is feminine music. I'm just saying, almost all the Styx & Journey fans I know stateside are women. I'm sure that's not how it was in the 70s & 80s but I think that's the US audience that has stuck with them the most.
