I did made a word doc. for both of them but was still too late.....:heheh:

Sorry about that Bro.. I knew it would sorta be a catch to that part. That's why I said who ever posted first would get the letter..
I'm open to idea's and we can even change it up some and someone else could start the next one..
I think it's just a good way to get a little info about bands which some of us don't always go into threads that are just about one band.
Anyways.. If you guys have any idea's put it down so we can come up with a new thread next time..:cheers2

Whitesnake

whitesnake_1978.jpg

Whitesnake are an English hard rock band, founded in 1977 by David Coverdale (formerly of Deep Purple). The band's early material has been compared by critics to Deep Purple but by the mid eighties Whitesnake had moved away from the early blues-rock influenced heavy metal to a more commercial hard rock style.
They were recently named the 85th greatest hard rock band of all time by VH1.
Whitesnake has 11 studio albums and a number of songs used in movies and TV series..
In March 2008 Whitesnake played at the Rock2Wgtn two day festival, which also featured Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Poison, Alice Cooper and Lordi, with special effects by the Academy Award winning WETA Workshop. In April 2008 the band released a studio album called Good to Be Bad, which reached #5 in the UK album chart. During the summer of 2008 Whitesnake headlined a UK tour along with Def Leppard, with Black Stone Cherry opening the UK arena shows in June and Thunder opening the July shows.
In early November 2008, Whitesnake received the Classic Rock Best Album award for their eleventh album Good To Be Bad.
On , 2009, Whitesnake announced they would be playing a festival slot at Download Festival, UK on June 14 via their official website. They also announced Def Leppard would be playing on the same day. It has also been announced that Whitesnake, Def Leppard and Journey will play The O2 in Dublin on June 12, 2009.
On March 17, 2009, it was announced that Whitesnake will be supporting Judas Priest on the 2009 North American Summer tour.
On August 11, 2009 Whitesnake was playing a show at Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado when front man David Coverdale suffered a vocal injury. After seeing a specialist, it was announced on August 12, 2009 that Coverdale is suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion. The remainder of their tour with Judas Priest has been canceled.

XYZ

xyz.jpg

XYZ is a hard rock band, formed in the late 1980s. XYZ started off as the unofficial house band of "The Whiskey", a nightclub in Los Angeles. The original members were, Terry Ilous (vocals), Bobby Pieper (guitars), Patt Fontaine (bass) and Joey Pafumi (drums). A tour of the US with Enuff Z'Nuff and Alice Cooper followed the success of their 1989 Enigma released debut album, and they were signed by major label Capitol for their second.
The band played clubs throughout the mid 1980s and first got a record deal in 1989 with Don Dokken as their producer. Terry Ilous's vocal style on the band's first album was very similar to Dokken's. Ilous and Fontaine then recruited Mark Diglio (guitars) and Paul Monroe (drums) to record a debut album, produced by Don Dokken. The album was released in 1989 and contained the hits "Inside Out" and "What Keeps Me Loving You". Videos for both songs received reasonable airplay, however, the album itself was not an overall success, managing to reach only #99 on the Billboard charts. Single "Maggy" was used in the 1990 Dolph Lundgren movie I Come in Peace. The next album, Hungry, released in 1991, had even less commercial success—not charting at all. Diglio and Monroe left the band and were replaced by Tony Burnett and Joey Shapiro, respectively. After the next tour was finished, band members went separate ways once again. They have reunited in various incarnations several times since then.
XYZ performed at Rocklahoma Festival 2008.
XYZ has just over 3 studio albums, 2 compilation Lp’s and has recorded 1 live album

Y and T

Hailing from Oakland California Yesterday and Today released their first one in 1976. After releasing their second album ( Struck Down) in 1978 they shortened their name to Y and T. Their first two are not strong but you can hear what they want and where they were headed.

Their tour de force for me is their third one, called Earthshaker. People all of a sudden were talking about them. The album is made of great heavy rock song loaded with great melodies. In a big and influencial Dutch rock magazine Eartshaker was voted the best album of 1981. Earthshaker was followed by Black Tiger. From what I read after Black Tiger they went big in the U.S.A. All in all they released 12 studio albums.
Sadly Phil Kennemore (bass) passed away in 2011.

I have to say personally, I was hoping Magic would complete the list with ZZ TOP.. She's knows the Little Ole Band From Texas very well...
If i would have done it.. I would have a hard time not doing Frank Zappa.. But ZZ was the best choice.. Thank you Magic for a great ending to a fun thread..
I guess if the plan works out.. We will try this again..
Happy Friday Y'all
