Early in the CRF Record thread it appeared that some members had preferences regarding the distribution of classic and new albums to be discussed. It seems to me that the fairest place to start is to survey members comments in the thread and preferences in a new poll. So, in your opinion, should the albums in the CRF Record Club thread be:

- all classics?
- all new (released in the last 12 months)?
- predominantly old?
- predominantly new?
- equally balanced between old and new?

By new I mean in the last 12 months or so, but feel free to comment.

It goes without saying that you are entitled to privacy, but it would be helpful if you left a comment and, therefore, your user name. Thanks.

Mainly Classics for me.

Not because I don't enjoy new bands, but the pedigree and sheer Volume of classic albums is already established and personally I just have more interest in those than newer bands that haven't stood the test of time.

I've voted for an equal balance. I prefer old, but a regular new release would encourage me to listen to them.

Once a month a new one from the last 3 years.

I vote for this too, although we may need more than a week to review. So I suggest 3 classic albums followed by 1 new one from the last 3 years.

An equal mix of old and new for me, many of the bands we view as being 'classic rock' are still producing very good new material, Rush just released what I feel is their best album in 30 years only a few weeks ago, and there are many superb rock albums being produced by newer, younger bands, who are the future generation of rock bands. I don't believe that rock music belongs in a museum gathering cobwebs with all the other old stuffed dead animals.
