I'm not a huge Clapton solo artist fan. I think he is highly overrated as a player
, as is Hendrix , there are sooo many metal and fusion guitar players that make them appear childlike in ability. Neither are close to being "the greatest guitar player ever" they are not even the best of their time period, IMO.

That said both have some really good stuff, Clapton's best stuff is mostly in Cream ( again ) IMO.
