CRANES Formed in Portsmouth U.K in the mid 80s. Best known for the child-like pitched vocals of beautiful singer Alison Shaw.CRANES music incorporates elements of indie/gothic and "shoegaze". In 1992 after a worldwide tour with THE CURE....the band reached their peak with outstanding album releases "loved" and "forever".Still active today CRANES have taken a more "ambient"direction in recent releases.

2 great tunes....

Not bad stuff Lou! I really thought Shining Road was cool and the vocals made it sound different enough to stand out. Salmacis really needs to see this thread since he's going through a Shoegaze phase right now! :grinthumb

As soon as I read that their music became more "ambient" with the last releases, my curiosity was peaked and I took a look at the 2008 self-titled release Cranes. I like stange and ambient works, and this album sure falls into that category.

Sleepwalking, is trippy and psychedelic

Ivisible, has the weirdest child-like vocals with droning synth keys

Move Along
