I don't like all of the band's songs, but undoubtedly Dolores and the band were a talented band in their own right.

This is so sad!
Dolores O'Riordan possessed a truly idiosyncratic voice, a very rare gift that made any song she sang "to let linger" in your memory even if you didn't dig "The Cranberries" style. Artistic and commercial success are not an easy match yet she excelled at both with her band leaving an indelible mark in the early/middle 90s rock, an achievement that's hard to match.
Rest in peace Dolores...
