This is my favorite pic of the mighty DEEP PURPLE. Crammed into a basement for rehearsal at the onset of their '84 reunion. I think that's the closest Blackmore has ever been to a Les Paul .

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to post our favorite pics of our favorite bands.

the castiles...you'll recognize the second guy from the right..bruce springsteen at 18 years

also a friend took these pictures that were printed in a teen magazine in 1966. the one outside the cafe au go go shows a young john hammond jr. (he's on the left in profile talking to a girl). the ones inside are of buzzy lindhardt accompanied by mike bloomfield on guitar.

jim looks more like one of the killers in "in cold blood" that a future rock icon..lmao. still a babe though.
janis still looks like janis and half the girls i grew up with. too bad none of those girls could sing like that.

Very cool pic tele. Hard to "picture" such a famous band back in the day when they had to pack it in like that instead of filling a staduim.

Those were sure the big-hair days for guys!....John Paul Jones had his cut that year and looks like he's growing it out on tour.
