Bowie's comeback album was I thought very impressive indeed, though it doesn't really count as a comeback, because he hasn't remotely 'come back' - as far as I know he never broke his reclusive lifestyle, he's never so far promoted it (apart from a video for The Next Day single) he never did a single interview, and he has never sang a song from it in public, Bowie remains the Howard Hughes of rock ' n roll, occasionally spotted sheepishly wandering around Manhattan in and out of doorways in a disguise and dark glasses.
