'Acquiring The Taste' by Giant is my favorite by them....more accessible than the later ones.
'Pawn Hearts' by VDGG is considered by many prog heads to be one of the greatest prog lps of all time.
It takes required listening imo because of Peter Hammill's vocals and the music is odd as is the music by GG. Robert Fripp plays guitar on a few tracks.
Caravan 'In the Land of Grey and PInk' is a favorite from the Canterbury school of prog an d worth getting imho.
Mahavishnu 'Inner Mounting Flame' is a tour de force imho of jazz rock fusion...not for the faint of heart.
Strawbs 'From The Witchwood' is another favorite....always been a fan of their proggy folk rock and Rick Wakeman plays all kevboards on it and one or two other lps by them before he joined Yes.
But all of those on the list are worth hearing and imho most are worth owning depending on ones taste of course.
