As we previously reported, when Chickenfoot hit the road to promote their upcoming sophomore effort, Chickenfoot III, drummer Chad Smith won’t be able to join them because he’ll be busy with his other band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now, we might know his replacement. Guitarist Joe Satriani told PlanetRock.com that it will be studio musician Kenny Aronoff. Joe explained Kenny was Chad’s recommendation and he described him as an “amazing drummer” who has worked with John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Tony Iommi, Bob Seger, Elton John and many others.
