Thanks for sharing your knowledge of all things Black Sabbath with us there ElPat :heheh:

You bet, pal.

Here's some oddball knowledge... Ever notice the "bong noise" in "Killing Youself to Live" on the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album?

Pan your speaker to the left and listen closely at approximately 4:31. You destinctly hear a bong on the left speaker give a 2 and a half second bubble sound.

I've read a fair few reviews about Technical Ecstasy over the years, some positive and some very negative. For me ... well though it's obviously not up there with the best from Sab there are some outstanding moments. It's an album I wouldn't be without and Tony offers up some magical work at times. Problem is when put alongside the earlier classic albums it dips, never really buiding enough steam to get up there.

Other songs on the album have grown on me over the years. Gypsy and especially those "Dirty Women."

Although the album is weak by Sabbath standards, I happen to think it contains some of Iommi's greatest lead guitar work. He came up with an incredible lead tone on that album that he still has to this day.

So 13 is apparently the title for the new album. Bit of a lacklustre album title.

I have a hard time caring about the latest Sabbath, myself. The whole "Bill Ward Saga" really left a stale taste in my mouth.

I really can't see them doing much better than the 2 "original Reunion era songs." I just see it sounding like and Ozzy solo album at this point.

I hate to be so negative, but everything about this reunion, including the "13" title for the new album is quite generic. It's not going to be the "reunion album" we were promised.

I was reserved on it initially but can see this being a disappointing release.

It brings Black Sabbath 4 to mind, which had its moments (Snowblind, Wheels of Confusion), but was disappointing (FX) compared with its predecessors. Tony Iommi's treatment seems to be taking its toll and they appear to be struggling to settle on a drummer, so it might be best to take a break.

Black Sabbath Live Footage From 1975 Unveiled

Dead video - Riff Raff

Currently in the studio recording their highly-anticipated reunion album, heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath have released a 25-minute video clip of the group’s 1975 performance on ‘Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert’ that reminds fans of just how great classic Sabbath really were.

Posted to Sabbath’s official YouTube channel, the clip featured above offers the group’s original lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward performing the songs ‘Killing Yourself to Live’, ‘Hole in the Sky’, ‘Snowblind,’ ‘War Pigs’ and ‘Paranoid.’

The group were promoting their sixth studio album, ‘Sabotage,’ which featured ‘Hole in the Sky’ as its lead track. ‘Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert’ ran in syndication from 1973 until 1981, featuring many of the top rock acts of that era performing live in concert — a rarity in those days when most “live” music performances on television were lip-synched. Sabbath’s original lineup would last for just two more albums before Osbourne’s forced departure, after which he became one of the unlikeliest solo superstars ever.

Black Sabbath (minus Bill Ward) are currently in the recording studio with producer Rick Rubin working on ’13′ — the group’s first studio record to feature Osbourne on vocals since 1978′s ‘Never Say Die.’ Sitting in the drummer’s chair is Brad Wilk from Rage Against The Machine. The album is due for release in June.
