Apart from You Won't Change Me I have had a change of heart about Technical Ecstasy, maybe I was just not in the right mood at the time of my other listening experience. Not as bad as my initial reactions. You Won't Change Me was ruined with the organ in the foreground, that annoyed me a lot, good song ruined.

Well Riff Raff i can tell that your an out and out METALHEAD and theres nothing wrong with that and i guess that TECHNICAL ECSTASY is possibly a bit to 'rocky' as apposed to being straight ahead METAL for your taste so i can understand why someone like yourself doesen't rate it much.

Like i said before i read that Tony regards TECHNICAL ECSTASY as his 'solo album' cos i think he wrote most of it and produced as well if i remember correctly also he said that he is the only one out of the band to like the album i believe?.

Actually I put rock on a higher pedestal then metal believe it or not. :)
Sure I listen to a lot of metal but rock was where it began for me as a music fan, Ill always be a metalhead/rocker at heart there. But I now actually kinda like Technical. Apart from the second track with the annoying organ play I like the album.

Black Sabbath

Do you remember the first time you heared Black Sabbath? What was your first reaction?

I remember hearing Paranoid and thinking "great riff"....and some mates from school got a band together and that was one of their set pieces

What was your first Black Sabbath album?

Mine was 'Sold our Souls for Rock and Roll'
It was so cool, not a bad track on it.It was a double album, I bought it on tape and went spare when my tape machine ate it!!
Great tunes and a real good singer in Ozzy. I still think he was made for Sabbath.

my fav Sabbath song ? Snowblind

I bought the Greatest hits thing, good compo , just sad to see it didn't have changes on it , I love that song.

I bought the dvd , the one with the interviews, which were fantastic and hillarious in places (pioneers, wagon train, history channel,I hate you )superb!

I was really amazed at the drums and bass playing seeing as I spent like 25 years listening to the gtr and vocals , what an amazing drummer,Mr Bill Ward, and what a remendously powerful bass player our 'Geezer' is.They just blow me away!

The other thing I realised is how really close to blues there first 5-6 albums are.

Black Sabbath , Rush , and Led Zeppelin (mid 70s classic rocks greatest trio) I have to say I was into Sabbath even before the other two, they were a nice off-set to my Queen addiction .
Got any thoughts or memories you would care to share?
