Mountain's 1969 version of Theme For An Imaginary Western that appears on the Mountain Climbing album is my favourite version which is a full band version with nice guitar and guitar solo from Leslie West. Classic rock indeed.

Jack Bruce performs the song solo and is a piano heavy version on his Songs For A Taylor record from 1969.

These were the album cover specialist. Never were heavily commercial... but are an integral cog in the wheel of Rock.
Mountain covered this also - but this version of Jack Bruce's tune is excellent.
Greenslade - Theme For An Imaginary Western.

Love all mentioned versions of that song, but for me the Colosseum version is my favourite

Been getting into some early 1970s British rock/progressive rock bands lately and one I am interested in at the moment is WARHORSE who released two studio albums WARHORSE 1971 & RED SEA 1972 both originally appeared on vinyl but were both subsequently reissued in the 2000s on cd with both cds appearing on Angel Air cds.

Also I picked up a early WILD TURKEY cd from 1971 yesterday.

ex-Jethro Tull and founding member of Wild Turkey the late Glen Cornick in 1971.

The lands of Marshall Stack.
Is there a 'one album only' thread on here folks?
Amid the storms here, bin' flicking thru' my 70s stuffy stuff-- think these hailed from out Baltimore way....only did one LP... 180g delight.
Many years later a CD of studio outtakes was released-- but didn't hit the spot.
Solid album from these.
Maypole - Change Places/ Under A Wave.
