I'm judging it against the overwhelming tide of disco music during it's release in 1977. Bombastic, over-wrought rock at it's best. And, as a NY Yankees fan, it featured Phil Rizzuto. 8 stars.
The album is rightly regarded as a 'classic rock album' by many fan's and music critiques although I must admit apart from the title track I've hardly ever listened to it in it's entirety from start to finish anyway although I'm not a big Meat Loaf fan some of the individual songs that he's recorded are pretty good rock songs and in particular Dead Ringer For Love that he recorded with Cher is very good indeed.
