Yeah I was hunting down the Studio version of "Come and Get It", the Video's I posted sound like they have more clarity in them. The first one I presume was a performance they did for the BBC?
"Come And Get It" was written by Paul McCartney and came out the year The Beatles broke up (1970), and Badfinger had their music released on the Beatles Own Apple Label, so I'd say they were pretty close.
Badfinger was great...Pete Hamm was an incredible songwriter & the band definitely was underrated. No Dice, Straight up, & Magic Christian Music are all classic albums...I even enjoyed their comeback attempt album Airwaves which came out a few years after Hamm's death...their career was so sad & tragic but they left behind great music
Badfinger were good enough to break free from the Beatles connection and mark their own spot in pop-rock history. I see comparisons with Big Star, though Badfinger was less quirky.
