Guns N’ Roses will be spending a lot of time together in the coming months, and guitarist DJ Ashba believes that it may give the band their best opportunity to record some new material that they’ve had in a while.

Ashba told Rolling Stone that the band’s Las Vegas residency may provide more than just great shows. He explained, “[Axl Rose] has tons of stuff done [and] recorded that he’s played for me and wants my input on.”

“This is the first time we’re all gonna be in the same place for a month solid and [recording] will be, and already has been talked about, our main focus,” he added. “So I think we’re gonna get a lot done. There’s a lot of stuff recorded and I think it’s just a matter of sitting down and working together as a band, putting together what we feel is gonna be the next best Guns N’ Roses record. And I can’t wait. I’m so excited to dig even deeper into that.”

Meanwhile, Ashba addressed both their upcoming Bridge School benefit appearance and the Las Vegas residency. He revealed that it will be a truly acoustic performance for the Bridge School show. He explains, “A lot of the acoustic shows in the past, I would still play on the [electric] Les Paul — but for this, we’re going all acoustic, no electric anything. That’s how Neil [Young] envisioned the whole thing, so we’re gonna stay true to that, for sure.” The guitarist hinted that the acoustic setting gives the band the chance to play a couple of songs they’ve never played live, so it should be fun.

As for the Las Vegas residency, Ashba says that by playing three shows a week, they have the opportunity to keep things fresh and unique, and he feels that the spontaneous performances will be something special, even for the Las Vegas residents who attend multiple shows.

Loosely translated:

Yea, he's a bunch of stuff, but nobody's gonna buy it, so we moved to Vegas so it won't be a big move when we've dwindled down to being a lounge act.
