Any rock radio bods on here?

WELCOME BEAR .I used to listen to Tommy Vance,Fluff Freeman,Phil Easton etc. They were true rock fans who had personality and their own individual styles,and something that is very rare now....they had opinions and were'nt afraid to voice them !!. IMHO Rock radio today is a very diluted form of broadcasting. The DJs are so clinical and overall lack personality. They are so limited as to what they can play that after a month of listening you know every album they own !!. This is just my opinion and I do not mean to offend or upset anyone.

Thanks for the greets everyone. I listened to TV but particularly Fluff. His BBC Radio 1 Saturday (afternoon) Rock Show, which ran from '73 - '78, was voted 'Best Radio Show' by readers of MM or NME for five consecutive years - then it was axed. I recorded about 15 of Fluff's Friday Rock Shows when he was on Virgin in '96/97.

Welcome to the forums.
I'm a 30-year old dude who was in non-commercial radio for over nine years playing rock, metal and indie music of all types. I "worked" for two different radio stations in Maine and did numerous artist interviews by phone and in person. Some of the better known people I interviewed include Leo Lyons from Ten Years After, Jakson Spires from Blackfoot and Eddie Money.
I was on the air pretty regularly from 1998-2007 working a lot of different shifts, hosting a lot of different programs and occasionally working with co-hosts, though I mostly (and preferred) to fly solo.
I wasn't climbing the ladder fast enough in the industry for my liking and bowed out at the end of 2007.
