any musicians ripping live tracks on their PC?

Just upgraded from Cool Edit 2000 (4 track) to Cool Edit Pro 2 or Adobe Audition 2.0 (128 Track), So tell me whats the power requirements that your currently using when you ripping live tracks.. Im getting a time difference on the playback, and the only thing I can think of is the memory, but I need how much more I need to fix this..

any suggestions?

I have no idea but I used to play my bass through my PC and record bass lines that way up until it ended up knocking my burners out of commission from the vibrations lol

That put an end to that ...
