I like a lot of the newer music, especially the progressive speed/power metal. And you can add the symphonic metal, also.

I have a great appreciation for quite a few altenative music bands, the post-grunge music in particular is of interest to me.

I am not going to name bands specifically because you can google each of these genre's and get a HUGE list of bands to check out.

You may have never thought of things this way, but there is a ton of music from the 70's/80's which is undiscovered. Just pick a year, and google that year in music, look for bands formed and albums released........you would be surprised all the cool music you will discover :D Anything I discover is always New Millenium music to me.

Well, I just don't get the authenticity feeling from any band from the 2000s. Every thing just feels so, different. Like, just this fake vibe from a lot of them. I don't know why.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'Authenticity'...Real music still exists and is still thriving.

Well it's always going to be different. People are constantly changing, it's just the way we are and there's nothing we could or should do about it.

As for your 'fake vibe', well that's your issue. I don't get that in any of the many modern bands I listen to.

Yeah Airbourne seems to be very good and Wolfmother too

Airbourne is compared to AC/DC constantly, but in ways I actually like them more than AC/DC. They are more like late "Let There Be Rock" era AC/DC and that's the AC/DC I love best. Faster a fresher. I think Angus, Brian, and Malcolm have all gotten particularly lazy with their songwriting since "The Razor's Edge".

I have a problem with most of the stuff this decade, but I do like stuff from it.

Not that much though, it's the weakest decade since before the '50's IMO. Hopefully the 10's will bring better fruit for my tastes :D

The thing I'm finding in newer music is that you might hear a great song from a new group and you go out and buy the CD only to come home and find that all the other songs on the CD are NOTHING like the one you bought it for..
They either suck or are just plain not worth listening too..
It's why I make comp CD's of all my favorite songs..
