i don't know if anyone has posted this yet or not, but this is an alternate version of one of my top 5 Alice Cooper songs of all time.
I've always loved this cut, but I have always wished it was longer. At 2:25, it was always over so quickly.
Well, no more! I found this over 5 minute version, with a second verse, some well placed, sparse & stark, single note lead guitar, and a quick visit from The Coop's Godfather, Vincent Price.
JACKPOT!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I know I will!
I also wanted to share this cut from his From The Inside album. It's a particularly poignant song about a Viet Nam veteran who, for whatever reason, is in the same institution Coop was in back when he was getting clean.
*EDIT*
I guess it would help listening to the song if I actually posted it, eh?
There are some good rarities on The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper. The problem is they combined it with a 'best of', so you have to buy four cds, when you only want two cds of rarities.
Yeah i've got it BIG EARS and it's a pretty good box-set.
Been listening to the early 80s albums a bit lately FLUSH THE FASHION, SPECIAL FORCES & ZIPPER CATCHES SKIN which are all solid rock albums in my opinion.
Favourite Alice Cooper album has gotta be BILLION DOLLAR BABIES.
Yeah your talking about the deluxe-version of BILLION DOLLAR BABIES x2 cds on Warner Bros, yeah it's a nice offering without a doubt.
The early 1980s albums are good solid albums in my opinion but i have read that Alice dosen't recall making the albums ZIPPER CATCHES SKIN and DA DA believe it or not??.
If i've got that wrong then probably a Alice Cooper fan will correct me?.
Yeah i can believe him being a "functioning alcoholic" back in the day, i like that picture of Alice in the book in the LIFE AND CRIMES x4cd box-set of him crashed out laying on top of a hotel bed surrounded by about 500 empty whiskey bottles!!.
