They have tons of b-sides and unused stuff that will keep them going even if they never set foot in the studio again.

^^That's a unique way to look at it Powerage, not an Aerosmith expert myself I sort of gave up on them years ago not because they haven't done some good material but I'm a 70's hard rockin' Aerosmith fan, the more laid back version of the band doesn't really interest me.

Tyler vs Perry, round XXXV coming up...:heheh:

They'll never top what they released in the 70's. And in my opinion, the only band that did top what Aerosmith put out were my boys in Quo.

I think my main problem now, is I ****ing hate what Steven Tyler has become. Somewhere along the line, it became obvious to him that he has the other 4 by the balls. So he can just do whatever he wants and they'll be powerless to stop it. Tyler has separate management from the other 4 as well.

The song writing aspect went as far back as Get a Grip. Old School fans most likely switched off when the band bought in outside song writers and were releasing top 40 singles that were ballads.

Tylers change in attitude though all happened since he started taking drugs again and fell off the stage in Sturgis back in 2009. It's now about HIM and only HIM.

He points out Joe releasing solo albums. Yes, but none of Joe's albums ever sold very well, weren't promoted to death, the tours were limited and didn't require Aerosmith taking 2 years off so he could appear on every talk show on the planet...

I'm not even sure they qualify as Aerosmith anymore. People criticise Van Halen for their soap opera-esq qualities, but both as a relevant force and in terms of released output this year "A Different Kind of Truth", VH piss all over the corporate Tyler vehicle that Aerosmith has become.
