Is it possible to add a poll to an existing thread? For example, could I survey old or new albums in the CRF Music Club thread? If so, would it then be possible to survey more than one aspect of the thread, ie. reviews or brief comments/ ratings? If not, I would have to create a separate poll(s) and ask for voters to provide their user names; meaning they won't have anonymity, but we could distinguish between contributors to the Record Club thread and drive-bys. Thanks.

You have to ask a mod to do that.

And do you mean adding then deleting the old one when we do another album?

I was thinking of something like this:

Do you think the albums selected should be:

- all classics? yes/no
- all new (released in the last 12 months)? yes/no
- predominantly old? yes/no
- predominantly new? yes/no
- equally balanced between old and new? yes/no

Do you believe the chosen album should be:

- informally discussed or rated? yes/no
- briefly or actively reviewed? yes/no
- a combination of discussion and/or review? yes/no
- reviewed according to simple criteria? yes/no

What would it take to encourage you to contribute to the thread?

- new albums?
- old albums?
- a combination of old and new albums (state the proportion)?
- reviews?
- discussion?
- other (state)?
- nothing (give reasons)?

This is three polls! I meant conducting the survey, analysing the results, acting on them for a period and then reviewing (after say a month or two or something). However, if the results are not substantial, it would be difficult to act on them.

I would suggest writing them separately and contacting all the interested members. And if people voting/reading the results want to join in that would be fine and help make the results better.

Means extra work for you though...;)

Doesn't really matter, if you make the Polls open to everyone then perhaps more people will join the Record Club. If you want to keep it for contributors to the Club only that's up to you as well.

If you make the poll public then we can see who voted for what easily enough.
