I knew I'd be in the minority as soon as I stepped into this thread. I prefer "Sgt. Pepper" by quite a bit honestly.

Sgt. Pepper's. Didn't particularly care for The Beatles until they went psychadelic.

Not that I vote in these things all that often, but this is the toughest one for me so far, for a music fan this is the equivalent of a lover of Michelangelo having to choose between his statue of David, and the frescos on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel!!!! In rock/pop terms, these two records are like the Holy Grail, faultless, timeless, and brilliant. I voted for Abbey Road because musically and as far as the writing goes, it is the more diverse and satisfying of the two, which for slightly trumps the fact that Sgt Pepper was revolutionary and wildly daring, and nothing had been tried like that before.
