Let's go up to the booth for an official review; When I think of "New Wave", I think of anything that was played on Southern California's world-famous New Wave radio station, 106.7 KROQ FM. And if you were still living in SoCal in the mid-80's you remember KROQ played the Hell out of "White Lines" and "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash, right? But wait, there's more! If you remember... KROQ also played The Beastie Boys and Big Audio Dynamite back in the 80's. So while their songs may not be the classic, synth-based New Romantic style of New Wave... they still get special dispensation here in this thread because they were heard on The World Famous KROQ. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
The Cure - The Walk. Classix Nouveaux - Is It A Dream. The Associates - Party Fears Two. B-Movie - Nowhere Girl.
Thankfully amidst wedged hair and winkle pickers and the wasp..leathers and 3 chords still clung on! Stiff Little Fingers - At The Edge. The Ruts - Something That I Said. Department S - Is Vic There?
Finding some treasures here. Stiff Little Fingers!! Drummer playing with one stick.. Really like New Order a bunch. The bass on most of their songs is pretty cool.
