Any other fans of this great psychedelic/acid rock band? If you haven't heard it their first album "Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators" is a classic.

Their biggest hit "You're Gonna Miss Me" was on the "High Fidelity" soundtrack:

Here is another great track:

One of the reasons I bring them up now is that their frontman Roky Erickson will be working with one of my favorite modern bands (Okkervil River) on a new solo album: True Love Cast Out All Evil.

Erickson has been plagued by mental illness for decades-- his plight was chronicled in the great 2005 documentary You're Gonna Miss Me.

I am really excited to see the outcome of this collaboration!

For those that are curious, here is Okkervil River:

I first became aware of Roky because of Little Steven's Underground Garage .. I possess the Wicked Cool Records "Halloween A Go-Go" CD and love it. This tune is on that CD ~

I have to agree, Foxhound, fromt he two videos you and Flower posted, his music was definitely ahead of its time. I am going to have to explore Roky and 13th Floor Elevators more.

I'm confused. S.F. Sorrow is by the Pretty Things.

:bonk:

Oops... my bad. My head has been swimming in downloads this weekend (over fifty albums or shows so far.)

All I have is "Kingdom of Heaven"

I'll have a dozen or so more downloaded after a few minutes.
