Some of those typefaces worked really well for each band. Led Zeppelin, The Doors, etc.

I don't care for the Van Halen logo though. I always thought it could've been done better.

Cos I like the band (Scorpions) - and remember drawing this on my school bag (still got an enamel Scorpions badge somewhere in the attic) - along with:

I was always disappointed when Down to Earth came out with 'Rainbow' written differently.

You are correct with regards to the 1979 Down To Earth album cover but the way Rainbow is written above was retained on the 1979 Since You Been Gone & 1980 All Night Long 45rpm single picture bags plus it was written that way on the front of the 1980 Castle Donington Monsters of Rock band compilation vinyl album and from memory the Rainbow Rising stage backdrop was still used during the Difficult To Cure tour era of 1981.

You're right - it was the Since You Been Gone single that I copied it from....

I liked the way RAINBOW was written in gothic script it was pleasing on the eyes I thought although I guess it had to be changed eventually for the Joe Lynn Turner era.
