Re: Charlie Musselwhite - Worth Seeing?
Money spent to see Charlie Musselwhite is money well-spent. I`ve seen him twice...if you like the blues it`s a can`t miss.

You`ll have to ask my oldest daughter that question...she`s got a Fender Jazzmaster and a Hondo...but she really wants my Rick. (She`s good...wish I had her ear)

That truly is a sad thing. I`ve always been partial to Syd`s music, and unlike most PF fans liked the Syd-era stuff more than after. Good-bye...and thanks for the inspiration.

I have a banged up old Rickenbacher bass I picked up at a pawn shop in Carlsbad California in 1980. Somewhat proficient...been in a couple of club bands, mostly blues. Dammit that thing weighs a ton.

Anyone here remember "Aorta?" They did one album...it was called, along with the title song, "The Main Vien". I may still have this clunker up in my attic, packed gently away with the other 23 metric tons of crap heh heh heh.

Take heart my aged friends...there is, in fact, hope. My oldest daughter`s 21 and she has a TON of Beatle cd`s. I`m still working on her younger sister.

I try to not pigeon-hole any type of music, or anyone`s listening taste. While I`m probably happiest listening to FZ or Aorta or many bands that didn`t get extended(see:ad nauseum)air play I do in fact enjoy most genres, and most artists. I`m an American, and understand deeply that one`s...
My distaste for certain top 40 crap songs/bands(MHO, of course) doesn`t necessarily paint me as the king of obscurity. I do in fact like most music I`ve heard in my lifetime. I just detest some of the smarmy stuff is all. Oh, yeah, not to keen on C & W either...and rap should be outlawed heh heh...
I NEVER got Huey Lewis. I thought his voice average at best, but perhaps it`s my total distaste for top 40 type radio crap that makes me feel that way. There`s lots more that fit, too...a couple were mentioned right up there ^^^.

Anything from Bob Seger that isn`t "Ship of Fools"...anything from Journey after Steve Perry joined...and how in hell did Huey Lewis sell any albums?

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?
Frank Zappa..."Cheepnis"
Raining too hard to work so I guess I`ll get DEEP into my collection today....oldest kid at work, youngest kid at college, and my honey is on the road today and tomorrow...what else is there to do?

I must be dim or something. I`ve been a member of the genome project for months and never really thought about posting of it here. I don`t go there often...perhaps once or twice a week. Usually I log in when I`m dusting or some other sort of drudgery. It`s fun, I`ve managed to remember a lot of...
This one could go to a couple of different places...but I like to think of the master as a classic artist just because he could do so much more than so many others.
Frank Zappa..."The Gumbo Variations"
Jack
this album rocks...
You beat me to Joe...I`ve seen him four times...passion is a good description...soul, as well. Last time I saw JC he opened for SRV...just weeks before the helicopter crash that took SRV away.
