DOKKEN - Step Into The Light (Official Video)

This is from the "new" album that is coming out later this summer, titled The Lost Songs: 1978-1981. The only member of "classic Dokken" during this era is Don. Well,I guess that depends on how far they go into 1981. Both George Lynch (guitars) and Mick Brown (drums) joined the band in...

DEE SNIDER - Prove Me Wrong

I liked the album he put out 2 yrs ago, For the Love of Metal. I think it was some of the hardest stuff he's ever done. This song isn't bad. Not great, but not bad either. Something about the production feels odd, especially in the vocals. The music sounds good, but the mix seems off...

    Sabbath/Ozzy song battle!

Children of the Sea by a long shot. From RJD's vocals to Iomm's riffs and solo.... outstanding song. I'd go so far as to say the 2nd best song on that album.

    KISS album battle!

correct and only Gene and Paul play on all 5 of those tracks. I think this was the first studio work that Bob Kuluck sat in for Ace Frehley on a couple of the tracks.

    Bad Company VS Foreigner

Love Foreigner, but I'll take Bad Co almost any/every day over Foreigner.

    KISS song battle!

Love both tracks, but Strutter is definitely the better song.

    W.A.S.P. (Official Thread)

Speaking of which, I've been going through some of my thousands of CDs in recent weeks/months re-ripping music and just dusting off the old catalog. Came across my Crimson Idol disc a couple of weeks back, made me want to cry. I have the '98 remastered release with the bonus disc. Well make...

    W.A.S.P. (Official Thread)

This week marks the 27th anniversary of the US release of The Crimson Idol. Don't know why the rest of the world got it like 8 or 9 months earlier, but it is what it is. I still like to consider the release date as 1992. Anyway, outstanding album! :oy:

    Slap Bass?

Love me some slap bass, always wished that I had learned it. Anyway, this whole song isnt' really slappy, but the bass solo has a feel-good, funky slap bass.... yes I said "BASS SOLO". ;) Brothers Johnson - Stomp (around the 2:20 mark as well as the outro solo has some slappy stuff in it)

    Slap Bass?

Here is a video that I've talked glowingly about for years. Love what this kid is doing on this classic Doobie Bros track. Long Train Runnin' - Bass

Iconic album battle! Aero vs. Alice

Trash! Gotta be honest, it's one of my favorite AC albums. I know a lot of Alice Cooper "purists" would never agree, but I love the style change that he did in that album, the catchy riffs, and the overall album from start to finish. Probably a top 3 AC album in my book. And I agree...

The Who - Substitute vs. Rolling Stones - Get Off of My Cloud?

The Stones easily get my vote in this matchup. Really not a fan of anything that The Who did in the 60's (very very little of it I'd play on purpose)

    CCR vs. Cream?

Love both, but I'll take CCR

    Rainbow (Official Thread)

44 yrs ago, the second Rainbow album was released. Only a short, 6-track, 33 minute long album, but I think that it's one hell of a release. Track Listing: 1. "Tarot Woman" 5:58 2. "Run with the Wolf" 3:48 3. "Starstruck" 4:06 4. "Do You Close Your Eyes" 2:58 5...

Ronnie James Dio (Official Tribute Thread)

Discovered something new (or maybe re-discovered) on Ronnie. He sang lead vocals on a couple of tracks on Kerry Livgren's (from Kansas) first solo album, released in 1980: Mask of the Great Deceiver ... vocals start just before the 2 minute mark To Live for the King I think that both of...

    Scorpions legendary ballads battle

Scorpions had a lot of great power ballads, but none can top Still Loving You. Possibly the greatest power ballad ever recorded (by any band)

10 years ago today, the world lost one of the greatest Rock/Metal vocalists of all time. The message that Wendy posted on Facebook that day: :rip:
