They remind me of the Bay City Rollers with that bubblegum pop sound. 6.8/10

Nice instrumental. Never heard of these guys but apparently, they were big back in the 80s in their native land of Hong Kong. 7.3/10

Always loved Ozzy's unique voice as he can make almost any song sound good. This one isn't among his best, but it's a worthy effort from the living legend. 7/10

    Mark-Almond (Official Thread)

I think their session keyboardist, Tommy Eyre, who they used on a couple of albums was fantastic. It's something about the atmosphere he created with his sounds...it's just otherworldly. Apparently, this guy also played on Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" and "Right Down the Line" while also...

My absolute favorite piano piece. So many adjectives seem to fit as a descriptor: sad, hopeful, beautiful, etc. The strings take the song into the stratosphere. 10/10

Sounds reminiscent of old R&B/soul music with a driving bass line and spoken word elements added to the mix. 7.5/10

Standard 70's rock vocals and some decent guitar work but nothing about the song really gripped me. 6.5/10

Very beautiful voice. Sounds like Irish folk music. Also sounds like it belongs in some epic adventure film set in a time long ago in the days of yore. 7.5/10

So true  I get confused when I want to post a band like Huey Lewis and the News or a similar band that could be classified as Pop Rock or New Wave. Which thread do I put this in? It seems like they belong in the rock thread since like you said, the OP stated everything related to rock...

It's got a nice reggae beat to it. But when you add in the horns, it sounds more like ska. It harkens back to some of those similar bands from the 80s like The Specials. 7.5/10

Decent single from Belinda although I liked her other one better...and her hits from the Go-Go's even more than her solo stuff. 7/10

Classic song from a classic movie. You got great vocals, a catchy melody, and your required sax solo to make your 80s hit. 8/10 If an Eric Carmen song passes for rock, then I'm going to add some Blondie to this thread.

Love this one and I often play it while taking my nightly walks. This is one of those songs that just sounds better at night. Vocals are powerful and a perfect fit for this song which transports you to another place...a mysterious, dangerous, and even romantic place. It always gives me a James...

Written by Willie Nelson, this is known as a country standard. However, I think it sounds much more poppy, which explains why it was also a hit on the pop charts. Whatever genre you want to put it in, it is a classic that will never go out of style. Patsy seems to hit a lower register than the...

Quite an eclectic style of music they have. I didn't care for the interlude at 4:30 and found the sound effect they used a little annoying. Other than that, it was enjoyable. 7.3/10

I've heard songs from Traffic but never any solo stuff from this guy who was apparently a founding member. I like the wah-wah guitar running through the song. This is one that I definitely want to hear again. 8/10

Great pick! It's probably Men At Work's best unknown song as it wasn't a single but sounds like it surely could've been. Love the guitar tone and the super clean production of the song. 9/10

The chorus is as catchy as you'll ever find and the verses are just fun to sing along to. The entire song just puts you on a beach away from the hustle and bustle of life. 9.5/10
