The History Of Prog Metal In 21 Albums

Not on Prog Rock Archives and wiki has them as heavy metal/power metal...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_progressive_metal_artists To be honest I have never heard their music. I just sampled 4 or 5 of their longer tracks and they do have some prog metal leanings...in fact a few songs...

The History Of Prog Metal In 21 Albums

Shub Niggurath-'Yog Sothoth' Actually considered Zeuhl...a weirder version of Krautrock ,but I thought they might be an interesting post.

I have a standing order for my wife or whoever to play that song at my funeral....if anyone shows up. Its about failure of communication , disillusionment, and isolation etc.....perfect death motifs. ;)

    Who's in this photo?

No problem....that pic is wrong cause her hit was in 1964 and she made some lps until 67 ,and she didnt record again until late '76 and I dont think she had any big hits on those later lps. Her '79 lp 'Broken English' is very good...I have it on old vinyl.

    Who's in this photo?

If we are supposed to guess I'm saying Marianne Faithfull....looks like her to me. As Tears Go By (written by Jagger/Richards and given to her as her debut single)

    Frampton the official documentary trailer

I'm gonna get rocks thrown at me ,but.....he was a solid guitarist but nothing special about his songwriting. His solo lps were mediocre imho. One of those things that happen in the world of entertainment where someone becomes big overnight even though they aren't really all that interesting. I...

4 70's Alice Cooper albums poll

I liked the early ones from 'Love It to Billion Dollar Babies'....pretty much stopped there...too many other bands competing for my attention then. Cooper became a gimmicky rock artist to me. Seemed more interested in the atmosphere/look/show than substance of his rock material. Still had some...

4 70's Alice Cooper albums poll

'Killer' or 'Love It To Death'....both are interesting to me from that list. 'Schools Out' only has that song on it thats interesting to me. 'Billion Dollar Babies' has more single hits than all the oher ones. I used to have Pretties For You and Easy Action on old vinyl but traded them off...

Unreleased Blues Song - Frank Marino - Live at the Agora Theatre

Never was much of a fan though I did like 'Strange Universe' (1975) in the past. The whole thing with him being Hendrix reincarnated was a hoot. Apparently the record company made it up without asking him and it plagued him forever. He of course denied ever saying that. Apparently he had a bad...

    Led Zeppelin vs Van Halen

I posted a few songs for you in the 'what are you listening to' thread..... Allan Holdsworth tracks....a fusion/jazz/prog player that Eddie was very impressed by in his later years.

    Led Zeppelin vs Van Halen

Welcome Buckeye Randy..... If it werent for Beck, Page, and Clapton there might never heve been Eddie Van Halen. In his own words before he died....."I've always said Eric Clapton was my main influence," he said, "but Jimmy Page was actually more the way I am, in a reckless-abandon kind of way."...

    Graham Parker (official thread)

Dont Let It Break You Down Now don't get bent out of shape Don't start tearing out your hair One a sweet little angel That stuff's nowhere When the bombs go off on Oxford Street And the kids beat up old people It's just a soundtrack for your life It's just everyday evil But don't let it...
