Yes, I knew about John's solo albums, I meant within the context of The Who. I should have specified that. Geddy is a phenomenal bassist but he's taken flack for his singing abilities. Mind you, I've never had a problem with his singing, even back in the days of "The Screech". :D But...
My favorites would be, in no particular order:
Greg Lake
John Wetton
Paul McCartney
Phil Lynott
Geddy Lee (yeah, yeah...I know)
honorable mentions: sang lead on only a handful of songs:
John Entwistle
Bruce Foxton (The Jam)
edit: That Gordon Sumner fella's not bad, either.
Yeah, it's a neat place. They're running a deal now on a lot of the concerts were you can buy a four-pack of tickets in that top section for $20.00 a piece. The sightlines are excellent and it's really not as far from the stage as you may think. I've seen a ton of acts there over the years...
Indoor: Probably Carnegie Hall. They don't book many rock acts, but I saw Jethro Tull there in 2005. Perhaps the best sounding show I've ever heard. You could literally pick any instrument or voice out of the mix at will. Very little margin for error as a musician. :D
Outdoor: Jones Beach Amphitheater in Wantaugh, NY. Easy to get to/depart. Cool bay breeze keeps it cozy. Superior sound. Fantastic summer lineups. I miss this place intensely. In fact, I'll be travelling back up to catch the Masters of Metal tour in Aug.
I love "Perry-era" Journey quite a bit. And maybe I'm over-generalizing here, but, I wonder why Neal and the band don't go in a completely different direction instead of marching out an endless succession of Perry-clones. This is no knock on Pineta. Just wondering is all.
You'll probably find that the sender has already been banned. Someone, somewhere in the illustrious history of this site holds a grudge. Just someone looking to stir the pot.
Don't let 'em discourage you from posting. At least it wasn't completely false...Telecat IS one of the coolest guys here.
Top three:
Yes - Madison Square Garden, 2004. The most ethereal, uplifting version of "And You And I" I've ever heard. The standing ovation forced the band to forget the outro and just wait for the cheering to dissipate. I remember a clearly moved Anderson gesturing to the crowd to calm down...
The Rats are really just a good-time bar band that overachieved for a while in the late 70s-early 80's. They've played the heck out of the NY/Conn/NJ area for years. I saw them open for Rush way back. It amazes me that they formed in 1964 and are still going today.

Looks like a moot point. Seems he was banned within hours of registering.
However, pseudo-kudos to him and his ilk. Went to see "I Am Legend" and noticed a handwritten sign stating that all showings of "The Golden Compass" have been canceled to due "technical difficulties."
Uh-huh. Right.
