    Review Black Sabbath - Paranoid- (1970) ****

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Black Sabbath- Paranoid (1970) **** Sadly, a cornerstone of heavy metal passed away today (Ozzy Osbourne). For nearly 60 years he and his other mates much more set up trends and fashions in heavy metal. Hell.... they invented the metal genre single handedly...

    Review Rush- Hemispheres (1978) *****

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Rush- Hemispheres (1978) ***** Rush had maybe 4-5 albums that I preferred over Hemisphere, but a band with (IMO) about 10- 5 star LP's, anyone of those 10 would be a fun choice to cover on any given day. Today, I chose Hemispheres for the fact that this was...

“Whole Lotta Love” Is The Best Led Zeppelin Song

Great Zeppelin number and in my top 5. Myt 5, might be a tad off the path but my $.02... 1. When the Levee Breaks 2. Hey Hey, What Can I Do. 3. Kashmir 4. Communication Breakdown 5. (tie) Whole Lotta Love, Immigrant Song

Review Van Halen- Self Titled (1978) ** 1/2

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Van Halen- Self Titled (1978) ** 1/2 I have always really liked Van Halen's music. There is no underestimating EVH's guitar wizardry, and how it changed hard rock in the late 1970's. I have been late to the game with a review, because as legendary as this band...

    Top Organ tunes

All subjective of course, but my opinion of the keyboard high-water mark is ELP's Karnevil 9 suite.

    Review Kansas- Leftoverture (1976) ****

Classic Album of the Day- Kansas- Leftoverture (1976). **** If I were asked right now, what is the absolute biggest omissions in the so called sham of a rock and roll hall of fame, I would have to overwhelming say that it is the band Kansas. These guys are top tier talent, and have great...

    Review UFO- Obsession (1978) ***

Classic Rock Album of the Day- UFO- Obsession (1978) *** Today's selection is somewhat of change of pace. I would pretty readily guess that almost everyone born after 1965, has not heard this band. But these hardworking journeymen of over 40+ years almost produced 2 dozen studio albums. The...

Review Fleetwood Mac- Tusk (1979) ****

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Fleetwood Mac- Tusk (1979). **** As Epic of a hit that Rumours became in 1979, yours truly will not dispute that fact, but even with the ubiquitous nature of that LP in the halls of modern classic rock universe. I recognize that the experimental basis of this...

Review Black OaK Arkansas- Self Titled (1971) *** 1/2

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Black Oak Arkansas - Self Titled- (1971) *** 1/2 Way back in the day, we in middle America had late night radio station, that was called Beaker Street. Beaker Street resided at KAAY in Little Rock, Arkansas, and from 11 pm- 2am played underground rock music...

Review Blue Oyster Cult- The Revolution By Night (1983) ****

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Blue Oyster Cult- The Revolution By Night (1983) **** Been wanting to cover a somewhat more obscure album for a while, and though this one might meet that criteria, as it is just crazy how underlooked, and unappreciated it was. BOC made a few albums better than...

    # If Hendrix was still Alive?

Hendrix sure seemed to wanted to take more of a funk approach at the end. Had he lived, the likes of Rick James, Ohio Players, among others might have been overshadowed.

    Review Asia- Self Titled (1982) * 1/2

Classic Rock Album of the Day Album- Asia- Asia (1982) * 1/2 Can you imagine my excitement in 1981, when I was reading about the formation of a band, a supergroup formed from pieces of Yes, King Crimson, and Emerson Lake and Palmer? Well, today I am deviating from the norm, and reviewing what...

Loverboy - Debut (Rate this album)

Haven't given it a former review, but from remembrance, I'd give it 3 stars, (6 on this scale) like Get Lucky. Albums are pretty close in quality, but give the nod to Get Lucky, for the fact the best 2 on it, are (IMO) better than the best 2 here.

Review Loverboy- Get Lucky (1981) ***

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Loverboy- Get Lucky (1981) *** There was a point in time when Canada got some serious players in rock and roll arena for airplay in the late '70's and early 1980's. None of them had the following or skills of Rush, but a few of the bands including Loverboy, April...

Classic Rock Album of the Day- The Beatles - Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) ***** This afternoon, I'll cover a classic, and forgo the ranking of the individual cuts on the LP, because of the difficulty of parsing such genius. While re-preparing this, I kept changing the...

Review The Shaggs- Philosophy of the World (1969) **** 1/2

Classic Rock Album of the Day- The Shaggs- Philosophy of the World (1969) **** 1/2 Today’s installment was from a truly ground breaking group. The Shaggs were a 3 piece all girl group from New Hampshire that got huge inspiration from parental vision. They pre dated the Runaways by a decade...

    Led Zeppelin (Official Thread)

Of course... Arguments could be made too for a 4 album streak Revolver through White Album- '66-'68 2112- Moving pictures (5) - '76-'81 Bayou Country- Cosmos Factory- '69-'70 And I am sure a few other, that I just haven't thought out. But just for my taste, impact, and pure excellence, if I...

I wanna go High and Low Here! Who's the Hottest (Sexy) rocker ever and Do political leanings effect music choices?

Classic Rock Album of the Day- Emerson Lake and Palmer- Trilogy (1972) **** 1/2 In today's review of ELP's 4th album strangely called Trilogy, which I guess was aligned with the number of band members instead of album enumeration. Well maybe 3 if you consider Pictures at an Exhibition a live...
