Michael Schenker's Temple of Rock - Spirit on a Mission

This album, and especially the one that precedes it, Bridge The Gap, are the two best Schenker albums since the 80's. He seemed really inspired working with Doogie White, but Jesus, he needs to lose Michael Voss.

Wow, they remind me of ..um..someone else, but I just can't put my finger on it..lol (being sarcastic)

    Best Cover Songs Redux

They're done recording the album. Andy Sneap has a window between Priest tours now, and if they're using him again to mix it, he's likely doing it right now.

    Krokus (Official Thread)

WOW, that must've been awesome. Love Blackfoot too! Saw Krokus at my first ever concert in 1983 opening for Def Leppard, with Gary Moore third on the bill. Headhunter still gets regular spins from me. A couple of their more recent albums are actually pretty decent too.

Riot / Riot V (Official Thread)

I actually prefer The Privilege Of Power to Thundersteel, but I went and edited out all of the junk between songs. Inishmore is fantastic, and is my favorite of the Mike DiMeo albums.

Five Favorite Albums Of Each Year

OK, well I skipped right to 1981, but I'll go back and start from the beginning. Earliest year I might be able to do is 1970 though. I'll have to look at it.

Five Favorite Albums Of Each Year

I consider 1981 as my most indispensable year of music. If I could literally cram 15 albums in my Top 5, I would. But, here's my Top 5... Michael Schenker Group-MSG UFO-The Wild The Willing And The Innocent Def Leppard-High n Dry Thin Lizzy-Renegade Lucifer's Friend-Mean Machine

Five Favorite Albums Of Each Year

Jeesh, no one has really added anything. Cool if I compare notes on a few years? I was born in '68 but I'm not sure I can scratch together 5 albums from anything from the 60's.

My Top 20 Lists that I compiled as a kid 1973-1990

It's actually really cool. I have all of my stubs in a scrapbook, but the band list and documented purchases is next level. Bravo!

    Hammerfall (Official Thread)

Awesome. I love Hammerfall, and I was so happy to finally see them live. My only complaint was the piped in backing vocals. I love listening to the show.

Top 50 Classic Heavy Metal Albums

Scorps, d'uh! I'm stupid sometimes lol Yeah, I don't consider those 70's bands metal either, but they were "heavier" than rock.

    Alice Cooper

Wow! I love Alice Cooper, but wouldn't see him until 1986. Where was this show?

Top 50 Classic Heavy Metal Albums

It seems to be the 50 Albums That Defined The Evolution Of Metal is more like it. Strange that Germany/Europe (not including England) only has one album, Balls To The Wall, listed. That's a really interesting pick. The album has actually aged pretty well. I remember when it came out, it was...

Riot / Riot V (Official Thread)

Riot is one of my all time favorite bands. The stuff they're doing now as Riot V is tremendous and their new album is excellent. My first exposure to Riot was hearing Showdown on the radio in 1982.

Stone Fury "Burns Like A Star" Album (1984)

I bought this when it came out after seeing the great video to Break Down The Walls. Loved the album back in the day. Sadly, it really hasn't aged all that well for me.
