Review Aerosmith - Done With Mirrors (1985)

Regarding the interesting number of tracks discussion, we were still a few years away from making albums that were "CD length". There was nothing unusual about the number of tracks on DWM. It had a pretty standard album length. Master Of Puppets, which was pretty long for that era is just under...

Review Aerosmith - Done With Mirrors (1985)

Great writeup, Magic! yeah, a lot of what you say is dead on. It has way more in common with the 70's albums than what comes after it. To me, this is the last real Aerosmith album. I would say that I was generally pleasantly surprised with Pump as a follow of to permanent Vacation, but that's...

Five Favorite Albums Of Each Year

Night In The Ruts is by far my favorite Aerosmith album. First off, it's easily their heaviest album. There's just something...ferocious about it. It's really loose and it just oozes cool. IMO of course. The instrumental part in Think About It crushes me every time. In fact, in an interview...

Five Favorite Albums Of Each Year

I love Blackfoot. Siogo made my 1983 list! What a great band, and Strikes is an awesome album. I considered it but it just missed the cut. For a brief period in the mid 90's, I worked with David Robinson's brother.

    Songs That Stayed....

I turned 13 in Sept of 1981. MSG's On And On changed my whole outlook on music and opened up such a huge musical landscape for me, especially leading to my love for UFO. I was blown away by Paul Raymond's fluttering keyboard flourishes in the chorus, and Michael's hypnotic and captivating outro...

Styx, Foreigner & John Waite Concert Review

Saw Styx at Great Woods in '91 and in '96. Both with Dennis DeYoung still there. Both times they were great. I'm not really into them, but they are still putting out quality albums and people I respect really like them and still support them. I also saw Dennis DeYoung at...EPCOT..lol. He was...

Rate The Song Above You Part III

UFO, on many days, is my all time favorite band. I love most of Mechanix too, but Terri wouldn't even make my Best Of The Chapman Era playlist. It's a nice song for sure, and helps build on many of Phil Mogg's themes, but against the rest of their catalog, I find it pretty weak. 5/10 LOVE the...

    Krokus (Official Thread)

Yeah, I know. I never listen to them though, and probably never will. I do have a turntable in my bedroom, but the days of me sitting in my room listening to an album are long gone. If my wife and kids (they're older but still at home, college age) tragically disappeared, I suppose I could see...

I feel like I have a 45 or two as well. Have to check my attic. I had everything for the most part on cassette up through Headhunter. I checked out at The Blitz. I have Headhunter on CD, and the rest of their discography digitally. I thought Hellraiser was a really good album.
