I should change it to 7.5 too as I do feel the production is much better on Firepower.

^^ The vinyl sounds fantastic. I gave "Firepower" several spins during Friday and over the weekend and I enjoy it slightly more than "Redeemer Of Souls" – which was a really good album. I'm not so fond of giving ratings, but "Firepower" is somewhere around 8.5 for me.

I typically don't give ratings like that either but was asked so thought I'd give them for the albums including Firepower post Painkiller.
I do think Firepower's sound is definitely better than Redeemer for sure. Just need to give it subsequent listens to see if the music itself matches up. Tbh there is a case to argue there is a bit of filler.

FIREPOWER HAS GONE IN AT #5 ON THE OFFICIAL BRITISH CHARTS!!

This is the band's first top ten in the UK since 'British Steel'

That's pretty impressive.

Dude I rate it highly the only downside is will I go see the Priest LIVE! without GLEN & KK....it wasn't great when KK stop being a band member imho

It has grown further on me but it is still a ridiculous stretch to say best since Painkiller in my opinion. More like best since Retribution tbh.

As great as the new album is, "Angel of Retribution" is still my favourite since "Painkiller". It's not that there's a whole lot between them overall, but "Firepower" doesn't have anything that comes close to the majestic "Judas Rising" imo. Still, I'd say "Firepower" is their second best since "Painkiller".

I've listened to it a few times and I tend to agree with both of you in terms of where this album lands on the "since Painkiller" list.

I would definitely put Angel of Retribution as the best album since Painkiller, but I would then put Redeemer and Firepower pretty much neck-in-neck / tied for the #2 spot behind AoR.
