Very sad news, I saw him live a good few years ago - never forget his blistering version of Mercury Blues.

The only thing that I recall of David Lindley a part from his exceptionally long hair was seeing him on German tv at the Rockpalast festival on stage in a 'all star jam' that included Rory Gallagher on guitar, Eric Burdon on vocals Frankie Miller on vocals and two or three other musicians on guitars all jamming on Bob Dylan's 'Knocking On Heavens Door' back in 1981 or 1982 where David was playing slide on a steel guitar.

That guitar on “Running On Empty” is so good. I’ll have to listen to more of his performances on Spotify throughout the day.

I think David Lindley did the very high vocals on STAY.
He was a highly respected & much sought after musician.
