When i first heard and saw the imagery of those Def Leppard videos on MTV, that made a profound impact on me musically. Plus Mutt Lange.....
I would add Winger as Honorable Mention. Great musicianship and 'higher-end hairmetal' then just pretty hair.
Definitely one of the top singers from the 80s. He continues to write and play regularly. I admire that he is a diehard songwriter. He has written some amazing songs even after his 'peak' years.
I've been trying to learn more about this band. I think they are phenomenal. Coming from a 'metal' guy, i really like the bubblegum quality. Especially the vocals.
Its great to read about their history. Started in 1966. I was wondering where that music was coming from? What musical influences...
Hey Kirk: Checked out your vid. Congrats. You were able to complete that first one!
I have that challenge sometime later this new year. Pretty sure i will do it on my own then hire someone.
The whole video process will be another learning thing as well as everything else with songwriting and...

I've recently been listening to the full Journey library and re-discovering how great this band is. Didn't know they had a different singer earlier. So, was wondering what are your top 5 records and why. I'm amazed with how much they wrote from late 70's up to '86. Thanks.
Ok, i'll start listening to the first one. I really like 'Hold the Line'. Don't think of them heavy either.
According to YT, their debut album went 2X Platinum in US/Canada.

Me too. I never really listened to them seriously but i've heard 'Rosanna'. Guessing Toto IV was their biggest hit? Shouldn't they be considered more an '80's band' then 70's with the height of their success?
Started to listen to VH at 5150 so am more accustomed to Sammy then Dave. Wanted to really listen to this CD from song to song and make a proper rating for my taste.
Title/Rating/Comments:
1: Mean Street/8.0/Excellent first song.
2: Dirty Movies/7.0/Interesting and unique VH type interludes...
Listened to Third Stage last night. I didn't realize that there was an 8 year gap between that and Don't Look Back. Was it just touring and typical life changes for the long period?
Boston were much more forward thinking in production and innovation then most bands of that era. Tom Scholz is a...
