I had a rare cd that I bought from the HMV shop in London around 6 or 7 years ago that I subsequently sold and am now p*ssed off that I sold it anyway the cd was of an American band called UPS and they were a bunch of long hairs who appeared to have had a connection with the MC5 and played gigs with them in the very late 1960s & very early 1970s anyway I can't find any info on this band on Wikipedia and there doesn't appear to be any of there cds on Amazon either??.

E-Z not heard of them..have you looked in Record Collector Magazine?
I will have a search in some back issues..on the hunt!..later.
Ok thanks I shall dig a bit deeper on the web. I believe they were popular amongst the hippies in parts of the USA but they obviously never broke BIG outside of the states.

Thanks Ian, I presume the band UPS (would there name be a nod to the drug speed?) had a very small following in a small area of the USA although they appeared to have had a record contract with a record company although I can't remember if it was a small independent record label that the cd that I had was released on although come to think of it I have a feeling that it may have been.

Yeah I'm fairly certain that they played a few gigs with the MC5 and they mite have even been managed by John Sinclair the MC5s manager?.

Below this poster could feature a picture of the band UPS because it's not the MC5 and I think possibly I have seen this picture before included in the UPS cd?.

Nice one Ian. I like the look of this band as well as there music and in fact I like all these types of 'hippy bands' from the late 1960s & early 1970s.

I wish I had kept there cd as it appears to very rare??.

I believe that the band was actually called The Up and not UPS?.

Ex Atomic Rooster band mates Hard Stuff / Bullet. 1971 debut , Prior to the release of their debut album, they were prompted to change their name yet again, this time to Hard Stuff, due to a legal threat from a US band also called Bullet .

Daemon - The Entrance to Hell 70-71
Hellhound - Hellhound - 1970 with Pete French on Vocals (Leaf Hound - Atomic Rooster)
