Hey fellow music nerds,
Thought I'd make an approximate year ( so far ) list.
Won't be doing the reviews like I used to under my old DaKiller Wolf handle because I never finished even one of those lists in past . This one will be less wordy and more albumy...I hope ha.
Also won't necessary be in order until years end.

Anyone and everyone interested in contributing is encouraged to do so.

Plenty of good albums this year at the halfway point. I will put entries in here of albums/artists I've discovered through 2017 releases and a lot of them are Thrash and also Australian bands. This year is expensive to the wallet. lol

This power metal group has released a fantastic new album, a comeback album, since their last album was a real dud. I love this melodic power......so crank it up!!!

My top three so far this year are probably somewhat predictable to all my Metal buds who know my taste well ..or at least the first two.

1. ICED EARTH - INCORRUPTIBLE
American Power Thrash ..this band has been a favorite of mine since I first stumbled on them around 96

or so...

Considering Iced Earth has been one of my absolute favourite metal bands for a very long time now and with "Incorruptible" being their strongest album in years, I cannot see anyone beating it for metal album of the year.

Currently, I'd probably rank Unleash The Archers second. Nothing revolutionary about them, but they do their thing so well and Brittney is an incredible singer!

Grave Digger and Alestorm are tied for third.

Agreed. This album easily tops it. Iced Earth won't be close to my album of the year, maybe top 15.

Great album, @Magic. To be honest, I had totally forgotten about that one when I wrote my post yesterday. partly because the "list above" was off the top of my head and maybe because I don't consider Ayreon pure metal anymore. It doesn't change my top two, but I'd probably put Ayreon on three and Grave Digger/Alestorm on four - until I check my list of albums from 2017 and realise I forgot something else. :oyea:
