I must be listening to the wrong radio stations, since none of those songs from that list reach the overplayed category and as far as the list goes I don't even know the Lynyrd Skynyrd or the Journey songs. I really like "Born to Run" as well, but have heard "Born in the USA" being overplayed more times than BTR that I cannot help but think you've got the wrong song in the list.

The Radio Station I used to listen to overplayed The Rolling Stones particularly "Satisfaction (I can't get no)" to the point I hate the song now, they used to go out and play "Wild Thing" by the Trogs that it simply wore out as well, other suspects were Billy Joel, David Bowie, The Monkees & "My Generation" by the Who.

The Radio station I listen to now probably plays too much of Herman's Hermits particularly "There's a kind of Hush" and sometimes they go over the top with Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, though I'm more irritated by the fact I hate ABBA and tell them to stop playing all that Disco rubbish which they turn a blind eye to my complaints and have brought in more Disco Rubbish and even some Rap music which I don't like just for Spite. :(

So I listen to more Talkback radio instead.

Wow, you are not familiar with either of those songs?

At the moment nothing is standing out with those songs, it might help to play them, but at the moment I'm in the dark with those songs.

EDIT: Yes I can confirm that I haven't heard either that Lynyrd Skynyrd or Journey songs on the radio here. I'm unsure if Journey has had much of a look in on the Rock Stations here and all I've ever heard from Lynyrd Skynyd is "Sweet Home Alabama".

Do you have Sirius XM?

If so try Channel 26, Deep Tracks. The DJ that hosts Deep Tracks hosts it from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Which is like 20-25 minutes away from me.

On Sirius XM I listen to stations 22-34 most of the time (minus 23 or 24 because its the Jimmy Buffet channel haha).

Can't say that I have, might be a bit difficult to listen to it from the Car, which is usually where I listen to most of the radio stuff.

I have always been fascinated by regional airplay habits. I am in Texas, so there is a lot of emphasis on "southern" rock, which explains the LS, but I thought that Journey song had a universal "played to death" vibe about it, no matter where you lived. :heheh:

With lovers, buggers, & thieves.
I chose "other".

Even though I usually try very hard to stay within the parameters of the OP, I actually can't remember the last time I heard any of these options on the radio.

Yeah, for 2 to 3 decades, these specific songs were played to DEATH, but these days around here, these songs are, for whatever reason, only played on rare occassion.

HOWEVER.... I am setting myself up here for trouble, but I will site "Rock And Roll All Nite" by KISS as the top song that radio killed.

KISS have so many other really great, radio-friendly songs to choose from... why do they always go with RARAN? Even the band themselves are at fault; If they are making a one-song performance then you can bet the farm they will be playing it.

ugh...
